What is included in a TPO roof price?

A useful proposal names the membrane and relevant layers, attachment method, edge and penetration work, and preparation. Also check removal, permits, and exclusions. A membrane thickness does not describe the whole assembly.

TPO names a membrane family, not an entire scope

TPO means thermoplastic polyolefin. A proposal still needs to identify the product and the roof work around it. The same broad material label can appear in proposals with different preparation, layers, attachment, edge work, and terms.

Separate product choices from site work

Ask which differences concern the membrane or other proposed components and which concern the existing roof or the work site. A more expensive option may include additional scope. You cannot identify that difference from the word “TPO” or a membrane thickness alone.

Compare the actual written amounts

Use the prices supplied for your property. If the quoted roof areas, removal, or exclusions differ, keep that information next to the totals. The calculator on this site only subtracts two amounts you enter; it does not produce a market rate or determine value.

Questions to take with you

  • Identify the proposed product.
  • Check preparation and related layers.
  • Compare real amounts alongside the written differences.

Enter your two quote totals and the specification question you want explained.
